Julie Moorehead took to the stage to speak about our corporate giving program, TCC Gives, a 501c3 public charity. It’s a separate entity from TCC, run by donations. All profits made go directly back to the mission.
TCC Gives is committed to strengthening communities and helping people. Through the shared passions of employees and customers, TCC Gives believes they can make communities better through three main initiatives: Community Grants, Connecting Hope, and Community Partners.
Community Grants was unveiled last year with $50,000 worth of checks that went to local non-profits in the communities where TCC does business. Any customer or store employee that is passionate about a non-profit can apply for a grant.
Throughout this year's Sales Rally, a number of organizations were presented with TCC Gives grant checks. Then, Julie announced there would be one last recipient of a grant: Eskenazi Health Foundation with a $8,950 check for their pet therapy program.
Attendees at the rally got a chance to meet some of these VIPs (very important puppies).
Connecting Hope is a TCC Gives program in its pilot phase that reaches survivors of domestic violence and their need of connection. It provides smartphones with data, talk, and text to victims and survivors with the help of local non-profits. To date, 200 smartphones and 500 months of data service have been given away –and there’s plenty more to come in the future.
